The Agency for Health Care Administration (Agency) announced that it will extend the moratorium on enrollment of new Behavior Analysis (BA) providers in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, with the approval of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Agency is continuing the moratorium to prevent significant fraud that impacts taxpayers and potentially compromises the quality of care patients receive. The moratorium will extend another six months beginning on November 14, 2018. This moratorium does not impact patients’ ability to obtain services. No Medicaid recipients will go without necessary services. Since May 1, 2018, 14,789 recipients have been approved to receive BA services. All existing BA providers will continue to be reimbursed for legitimate services while the Agency further investigates fraud and abuse.
