Primary care physicians who care for Medicaid patients could be eligible for higher reimbursement.  Under the Affordable Care Act, state Medicaid programs are required to reimburse primary care services at Medicare rates for 2013 and 2014.  The payment increase is expected to be retroactive to January 1, 2013.

To receive the pay increase, qualified physicians must submit a self-attestation form verifying their services and eligibility.  Physicians may qualify for the  higher rates if they are in family practice, general internal medicine or pediatrics.
