All Providers are subject to Medicare Revalidation of provider enrollment records

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) established requirements for all providers enrolled in the Medicare program to revalidate their enrollment records under the new, more stringent, enrollment screening criteria.  The revalidation applies to all providers and suppliers that were enrolled prior to March 25, 2011.  The re-validations must be completed by March 23, 2015.

Medicare intermediaries send out Medicare Revalidation notices on a regular basis.  When you recieve a revalidation notice, you have 60 days to respond with your revalidation.  If you do not, then Medicare will deactivate your billing privileges.  Once deactivated, you can re-instate your billing privileges by successfully re-enrolling in the program.
